Combining traditional materials with contemporary design elements makes a perfect recipe, and SABINE LA does that just perfectly. Our deep rooted love for Spanish influence and Central/South American textiles brings our eye to these amazing, handcrafted pieces created by Lead Designer Sabin Ousey.
"Established in 2015, SABIN is a Los Angeles-based design company committed to creating heirloom quality home furnishing and accessories. Inspired by California's dynamic and varied architectural past, SABIN's designs borrow from Spanish colonial, Art Deco and mid-century modern motifs, allowing each piece to fit comfortably within contemporary living spaces."
We stumbled across his newest press in the current issue of ELLE Decor and couldn't wait to do some more investigation.
The styling of natural fibers, bringing the outdoors inside and pops of strong shapes and colors is what we love. Juxtaposing the large, dark El Mirador leaning oak bookshelf against the white walls creates depth in such a bright and airy space. Sabin thinks outside of the box in this piece, allowing shelving in a place not normally capable of holding your standard bookcase.
Another piece we can't take our eyes off is Sabin's Alhambra floor lamp. This simple but elegant floor lamp is described as: "A modern take on the traditional candelabra. This floor lamp is influence by both mid-century French and early '30s Spanish styles." These pieces perfectly pays homage to one of our favorite mid-century designers, Jacques Adnet. And, lets give one more high-five to the Topanga Chair. (shown below Alhambra)
