Featured Artist: Michelle Armas

This week we're featuring one of our favorite artists Michelle Armas from Atlanta, GA whose bright colors and bold shapes inspires many of our design projects and Lisa's artwork. Her artwork reflects the kind of world we dream of, with wild, colorful movement portraying waves, wind, rain and tumbling rocks. Her quirky personality flows freely in her paintings and reflects much of her lifestyle which she portrays in her Blog

"These moody and simple paintings are about a gesture, and the power they have when the don't have to compete with anything else. The simple sweeping line like a beam of light. Moody, mossy, earthy colors are pristine in their simplicity. Economy of color, line and space." -Armas

Her artwork is currently being featured at SEA and The Hidden Lantern in Rosemary Beach, FL and is available on her website at www.michellearmas.com to see her full collection.

Her art comes beautifully framed and ready to bring pops of color to any well designed space.

On The Boards: Rosemary Beach

We're excited to announce our new weekly blog series ON THE BOARDS to share our style! This week we are featuring one of our favorite destinations Rosemary Beach, Florida. We love its bold contrast in both it's architecture and color. Our spanish influences come out in this board and are paired well with natural materials.

Many of these influences come from one of our favorite design suppliers: L'Avida Home and Tabarka Tile

Design Inspiration: Sabin LA

Combining traditional materials with contemporary design elements makes a perfect recipe, and SABINE LA does that just perfectly. Our deep rooted love for Spanish influence and Central/South American textiles brings our eye to these amazing, handcrafted pieces created by Lead Designer Sabin Ousey.

"Established in 2015, SABIN is a Los Angeles-based design company committed to creating heirloom quality home furnishing and accessories. Inspired by California's dynamic and varied architectural past, SABIN's designs borrow from Spanish colonial, Art Deco and mid-century modern motifs, allowing each piece to fit comfortably within contemporary living spaces."

We stumbled across his newest press in the current issue of ELLE Decor and couldn't wait to do some more investigation.

The styling of natural fibers, bringing the outdoors inside and pops of strong shapes and colors is what we love. Juxtaposing the large, dark El Mirador leaning oak bookshelf against the white walls creates depth in such a bright and airy space. Sabin thinks outside of the box in this piece, allowing shelving in a place not normally capable of holding your standard bookcase.

Another piece we can't take our eyes off is Sabin's Alhambra floor lamp. This simple but elegant floor lamp is described as: "A modern take on the traditional candelabra. This floor lamp is influence by both mid-century French and early '30s Spanish styles." These pieces perfectly pays homage to one of our favorite mid-century designers, Jacques Adnet. And, lets give one more high-five to the Topanga Chair. (shown below Alhambra)

The Classical, Deconstructed

We're currently obsessed with this new line of furniture created by CASA MIDY which features classical designs "deconstructed". It adds interesting lines in a traditional world, creating eye catching presence. It's a strong piece that offers elements of "lightness" and air. Interested in a piece like this in your abode? Let us curate the perfect accompaniments to this incredible piece.
